About the circuit
The track
Bedford Autodrome is built on the former Thurleigh airfield in Bedfordshire. Its wide, flat circuits are surrounded by large run-off areas, which makes it a favourite for driving experiences, testing and trackdays. Several layouts are used; the GT circuit, the longest, is 6.1 km.
Signature corners
Because the site is flat and open, the corners are defined by their shape rather than by crests or walls: long, wide bends where you can explore the limit, and slower corners where braking and traction matter. The layouts combine sections in different ways, so each day can feel different.
Who it suits
Bedford Autodrome is wide and flat with huge run-off, so it is one of the safest places in Britain for a first trackday. Experienced drivers use it to explore the limits of a car without the risk of a narrow circuit. The site is also home to the PalmerSport driving experience.
Getting there
The circuit is at Thurleigh, about 6 miles north of Bedford. London Luton airport is about 45 minutes away by car, and Bedford has good rail links to London.
