About the circuit

The track

The Mugello Circuit lies in the Tuscan hills about 30 km north of Florence. It opened in 1974 and has been owned by Ferrari since 1988. The 5.245 km lap climbs and falls through the valley, and the main straight is over a kilometre long: MotoGP bikes reach more than 350 km/h here. It is the home of the Italian motorcycle Grand Prix, and in 2020 it hosted its first Formula 1 race.

Signature corners

After the straight you brake hard into San Donato, then climb through Luco and Poggio Secco. The fast Casanova-Savelli and the two Arrabbiata right-handers are among the most famous corners in motorcycle racing, and Bucine, the long final corner, sets up your speed onto the straight.

Who it suits

Mugello rewards a committed, flowing style and gives a real sense of speed. Trackdays here are run by Italian organisers for cars and motorbikes, often over several days; Trackstr lists the circuit's own calendar and the organisers' dates.

Getting there

Take the A1 motorway to the Barberino di Mugello exit; the circuit is near Scarperia. Florence airport is about 45 minutes away by car, Bologna roughly an hour.
