Trackday questions

What is a trackday?

A day, or part of a day, when a race circuit is open to ordinary drivers to drive their own car or motorbike, or a rented one. It is not a race: there is no starting grid and no classification, and you drive at your own pace within the organiser’s rules.

How much does a trackday cost?

For the upcoming trackdays on Trackstr with a published price (118 dates), prices run from €30 to €5,720; half cost €420 or less. Short sessions (open pit lane) cost less than a full day, and the price depends on the circuit, the organiser and what is included.

Where can I find trackdays in Europe?

Trackstr lists 252 upcoming trackdays at 36 circuits in 10 European countries, by country, by month and by circuit, each with a direct link to book with the organiser.

Can anyone do a trackday?

Most trackdays are open to anyone with a valid driving licence and a road-legal car or motorbike that meets the circuit’s noise limit; motorcyclists need full protective clothing. Many organisers welcome beginners, often with instruction or a separate group. The rules differ per organiser, so check them before you book.
