About the circuit

The track

The Circuit Paul Ricard lies on a plateau above Le Castellet in Provence. It hosted the French Grand Prix many times and is known for its blue-and-red striped run-off areas, which are abrasive asphalt instead of gravel and slow a car down safely. The circuit can be set up in many layouts; the full Grand Prix lap is 5.8 km.

Signature corners

The Mistral straight, with or without its chicane, is the signature of the circuit. At the end of it waits Signes, a very fast right-hander that tests your nerve, followed by the long, double right-hand Beausset. The lap ends with a series of slower corners back to the pits.

Who it suits

Paul Ricard has huge asphalt run-off areas, which makes it one of the safest places in Europe to learn and to push. Experienced drivers find plenty of challenge in its fast corners. Sun and heat are common, so plan for tyres and hydration.

Getting there

The circuit is between Marseille and Toulon, about 50 km east of Marseille. Marseille Provence and Toulon-Hyères airports are both around an hour away by car, and the small Le Castellet airport for private aircraft is right next to the circuit.
