About the circuit

The track

MotorLand Aragón lies in the dry, open hills near Alcañiz in the province of Teruel. It opened in 2009 and was designed by Hermann Tilke, the architect of many modern Formula 1 circuits. The full 5.345 km layout has 18 corners and several shorter versions. The circuit hosts the Aragón motorcycle Grand Prix and rounds of the Superbike World Championship.

Signature corners

The back straight is one of the longest in Europe, about 1.7 km, and ends in heavy braking. Earlier in the lap a steep drop through a corkscrew-like sequence tests your nerve, and the modern layout mixes tight hairpins with fast, open corners. Two corners are named after Spanish riders Marc Márquez and Carlos Checa.

Who it suits

MotorLand's wide track and big run-off areas make it a good place to explore your limits. Riders come here for winter and spring trainings. The circuit's own website may not be reused, so Trackstr lists the dates of organisers who run days here.

Getting there

Alcañiz is about 100 km south-east of Zaragoza. Zaragoza airport is roughly an hour and a half away by car, and Barcelona and Valencia about two and a half hours.
