About the circuit

The track

Circuit Ricardo Tormo lies at Cheste, about 25 km west of Valencia, and is named after the Valencian motorcycle world champion Ricardo Tormo. It opened in 1999. The 4.005 km lap runs anti-clockwise around a natural bowl, so from the grandstands you can see almost the whole track; it was long known as the venue of the season-ending motorcycle Grand Prix.

Signature corners

Most corners are slow and medium-speed lefts, linked closely together, which makes the lap feel like a stadium track. The main straight ends in hard braking for turn 1, the best place to overtake, and the final corners decide your speed onto the straight.

Who it suits

Valencia is a forgiving place to learn: the corners come quickly but at moderate speed, and its mild winters make it a popular destination for winter rider trainings. The circuit's own website may not be reused, so Trackstr lists the dates of organisers who run days here.

Getting there

The circuit is next to the A-3 motorway from Valencia towards Madrid. Valencia airport is about 20 minutes away by car.
