Frequently asked questions

Which circuit has the strictest noise limit?

Of the circuits on Trackstr with a published limit per date, Hockenheimring has the lowest: 98 dB. Circuit Zandvoort is also known for strict limits because of the surrounding dunes.

How is noise measured at a trackday?

Circuits measure either drive-by (a microphone next to the track measures each car as it passes) or static (a measurement at the exhaust while standing still at a set engine speed). Cars that are too loud can be sent off the track.
