About the circuit
The track
The Motorsport Arena Oschersleben in Saxony-Anhalt opened in 1997. The 3.7 km circuit is flat and technical, with a mix of slow corners, a hairpin and faster sections. It hosts touring car and motorbike racing and has a driving safety centre on site. Much of the lap can be seen from the main grandstand area.
Signature corners
The lap is built around hard braking into slow corners followed by short straights, so exits matter as much as entries. The hairpin is the main overtaking spot. Kerbs are used a lot, and a smooth line through the slower sections makes a big difference to lap times.
Who it suits
Oschersleben is flat and technical with good run-off, so it suits beginners and drivers who want to work on braking points and corner exits. Speeds are moderate compared with the bigger German circuits, so small mistakes are rarely costly. It is also popular for motorbike trackdays.
Getting there
The circuit is near Oschersleben, about 35 km south-west of Magdeburg. Hanover and Leipzig/Halle airports are each roughly 1 hour 30 minutes away by car, and Berlin about two and a half hours.
