About the circuit
The track
Brands Hatch sits in a natural bowl in the Kent countryside, so spectators can see much of the lap. It hosted the British Grand Prix in the 1960s, 70s and 80s. Most trackdays use the short Indy circuit; the full 3.9 km Grand Prix circuit adds a fast loop through the woods.
Signature corners
Paddock Hill Bend, a fast, off-camber right-hander that drops steeply downhill straight after the start, is one of the most famous first corners anywhere. Druids is a tight hairpin at the top of the hill, and Clearways and Clark Curve lead back onto the straight. The GP loop adds Hawthorns, Westfield and Dingle Dell.
Who it suits
The Indy circuit is short and busy, which suits newcomers who want many laps. The Grand Prix loop is fast and unforgiving, better suited to experienced drivers. Noise limits are typically 105 dB static and 92 dB drive-by.
Getting there
The circuit is near West Kingsdown, about 20 miles south-east of central London, close to the M25 and M20. Gatwick airport is about 45 minutes away by car and Heathrow about an hour.
