About the circuit

The track

The Hockenheimring lies in the flat Rhine valley between Mannheim and Karlsruhe. The current 4.6 km Grand Prix circuit dates from 2002, when the old forest loop was replaced. It hosted Formula 1 many times and is still home to the DTM finale and big drag-racing events.

Signature corners

The Hairpin at the end of the Parabolika is the main overtaking spot and a big braking zone. The lap finishes in the Motodrom, the stadium section, where the Sachs curve and the Mercedes grandstand frame the last corners. The fast Mobil 1 curve sets up the run down the Parabolika.

Who it suits

Hockenheim is flat, wide and well organised, so it suits beginners and drivers working on braking and consistency. Noise classes are strict (class C is max 98 dB), so check the class of your day.

Getting there

The circuit is next to the town of Hockenheim, about 20 km south of Mannheim. Hockenheim railway station is within walking distance. Frankfurt airport is about an hour by car.
